Wins & Carnage In Corpus Christi

Monkey'n Around joined Martial Law, Project X and Dream Catcher at The Asfault Bullring in Corpus Christi Texas as a part of the TNT Monsters Steel Thunder Tour. A big weekend started off on Friday night with Steven Hill in Monkey'n Around coming a close 2nd in wheelie contest. The rest of Friday night belonged to Steven however, as Monkey'n Around took home the racing win, and even despite a rollover by Martial Law, Steven Hill laid down enough of an impressive run to win over the fans and take home the freestyle win on Friday night. Steven ran the truck so hard that the team found a busted rear-housing after freestyle, another few jumps and a rear wheel would of been coming off!

The team got the rear-housing welded up and ready to go for the Saturday night show. Right off the bat Steven Hill laid down a massive wheelie to come in 2nd once again in wheelie contest, but it cost him a busted rear axle. Steven battled the rest of the night, making it to the racing finals and barely losing to Martial Law. Steven Hill had another high flying freestyle run to cap off Saturday night.

All 4 trucks had battle scars coming into the Sunday show. Martial Law had completely destroyed the body, Project X had broke axles and a broken driveshaft, and Dream Catcher had body damage and a broken axle. Steven Hill couldn't catch a break as another broken rear axle came up in the wheelie contest. Steven Hill once again battled his way through the field despite the breakage to make it into the racing finals but once again got edged out at the line by Martial Law. Sunday freestyle saw dueling runs, as Dream Catcher and Project X came out together, followed by Martial Law and Monkey'n Around. Travel Trailers, Motorhomes, Van Stacks and much more got demolished along the way, and Martial Law and Monkey'n Around were granted the last freestyle win on the weekend.

The team thanks Dean and his entire TNT staff, Billy, and the entire safety crew at the speedway for their hospitality over the weekend. Next up, the Monkey'n Around truck will be in competition in Texarkana Arkansas, and the Cowboy's Cadillac ride truck will be making its world debut!

Monkey'n Around Rocks Rapid City

The Monkey'n Around team has endured another long grueling 1st Quarter tour, taking them from New Jersey clear across the country to Wyoming, with many stops in between! The final racing event of the tour was in Rapid City South Dakota for Dean Torgerson's TNT Monsters Steel Thunder Tour. Steven Hill started out the night by winning the wheelie contest hands-down! Then it was strait into side by side racing, where Steven Hill made it all the way into the finals to face off with Martial Law. Steven admitted he got the bad racing lane and that helped propel Martial Law into the final round win. With Freestyle remaining it was time for Steven Hill to tear it up, and tear it up he did. Steven blew the bed sides off the truck with big air jumps and ended up the run with a donut and by throwing the steering wheel out the window. Steven Hill capped off a great 1st Quarter of 2008 with another freestyle win. The team will now head down to visit with friends in Amite Louisiana and do a display for long time supporters, O'Reily Auto Parts.

Monkey'n Around In Casper!

The Monkey'n Around team had a wild weekend, even before getting to Casper! High winds around Cheyenne was knocking over trucks/trailers on the highway, and after traveling over 1000 miles to compete in Wyoming for the first time, it looked like the team might be stranded just a hundred miles away! The team ended up battling the elements, and drove white-knuckled through the wind storm to make it in time for the Casper event. Once there it was time to go racing. In Round 1 it was T-Maxx Vs. Monkey'n Around and bad luck struck Steven Hill as the rear kill switch accidentally engaged after the first hill and shut down the truck. Monkey'n Around did not earn the Fast Loser spot and was out til Freestyle. Steven Hill came out early in the order, made some great hits on the cars and ended his run with a donut. It's off to 4 events of racing in 3 days at the huge Tulsa Expo Center in Tulsa Oklahoma this weekend!

Monkey'n Around Dominates Austin!

What a weekend in Austin! Steven Hill walked away with more wins than any other driver in Austin with 3, taking the Wheelie Contest victory both Friday & Saturday Night, and also winning the side by side racing on Friday night. Freestyle on Friday night was a close call, and Steven made it to the finals in racing on Saturday but flinched just a split second too soon and was caught for red lighting in the racing finals. The crowd was behind the big Blue & Purple Hemi all weekend long, and we thank the fans of Austin for all of their support!

Monkey'n Around In Sioux Falls!

The Monkey'n Around team returns to the Sioux Falls Arena in Sioux Falls South Dakota for 1 big Saturday night show! Steven Hill was determined to come out strong, and he did just that by taking the #1 qualifying spot over Bigfoot and the rest of the field. Racing was up next with Steven Hill taking out the new Xtreme Eagle machine in Round 1. Then in the semi finals Monkey'n Around took out the fast loser The General to earn a spot in the final round. Sadly, due to a mix up on the track, the final round between Bigfoot and Monkey'n Around was never run. In freestyle, Monkey'n Around was forced to go out early in the field but still laid down a good run, but in the end it was a wild run by Bearfoot that took the freestyle crown away from the Monkey'n Around team. The Monkey'n Around team will head to Austin Texas to visit with some family and friends before rocking the Travis County Expo Center for MAP Motorsports this upcoming weekend!

Monkey'n Around In Trenton!

For the first time ever in New Jersey, Monkey'n Around invaded the Sovereign Bank Arena. The team ran strong in wheelie contest and racing on Friday before a broken pushrod sidelined Steven Hill for freestyle on Friday Night. The truck was 100% for the Saturday 2PM show, with more strong performances in wheelie, racing, and freestyle. The evening show had Steven Hill blow the right rear quarterpannel off the truck in wheelie contest, then battle through the racing bracket. In one of the closest races all weekend between Monkey'n Around and Screamin Demon, the win came out to Screamin Demon but it had the crowd on their feet as it was arguably one of the best side by side races of the weekend. Steven wrapped up the night with another solid freestyle performance. Thanks to the great fans of Trenton for some great hospitality as the team got a grand tour of the area after the show! The Monkey'n Around team will be back on January 26th in Sioux Falls South Dakota for another CFP Winter Nationals Event!

Cowboy's Cadillac Coming Soon!

The Monkey'n Around team got a great opportunity to pick up a ride truck for sale and pounced on the opportunity a few weeks ago. The team would like to announce the birth of "Cowboy's Cadillac", a ride truck that will be making its debut in a few short months. The truck is getting a full makeover both aesthetically and mechanically as we speak, and is available for bookings right now. The plans for the Alien Attack ride truck are still on-going as its construction is also still in progress and will be completed soon.

Monkey'n Around In Charlotte!

The Monkey'n Around team headed east to the legendary Cricket Arena in Charlotte North Carolina as the CFP Winter Nationals Tour rolls on. On Friday night Steven qualified mid-pack and faced off against Joe Miller in Havoc, after getting a big hole shot off the line, the truck did not settle down in no-mans-land and Havoc was able to come from behind to eek out one of the closest wins of the night. In Freestyle, Steven Hill was the first truck out and was able to rip off a donut on the very tacky track surface. Steven also had some great hits on the van stack to cap off the run. Everyone else in the field tried to do a donut, but no one else could get the truck to break loose. Steven held the lead all the way through the field until Bigfoot came out and was also unable to do a donut but made a great save over the center-stack and propelled him to a crowd cheer off win.

Saturday Night Steven Hill once again qualified towards the top half of the field but had a tough draw against the brand new $250,000 Just Get-Er-Done machine in the first round. Steven lost another close one but got the chance to come back as fast loser in the semi-finals. Steven caught another bad bounce in the semi-finals and in a race that had to go to the judges on the finish line it was War Eagle picking up the semi-final win. Steven was determined to put down another solid freestyle performance and he did not disappoint, coming out with a vertical launch off of the car stack and a hit on the van stack before once again ripping into another wild donut, this time with the steering wheel being thrown out the window to boot! Steven had to cut the run short before taking on the center-stack but the crowd still voted him towards the top of the freestyle finishing order. The Monkey'n Around team heads 500 miles north to Trenton NJ this weekend for a Friday and 2 Saturday shows on the CFP Winter Nationals Tour!

Monkey'n Around Kicks off 2008!

The Monkey'n Around team left the sunshine and the warmth of Florida and headed for the snow and ice in Topeka Kansas as the first event in the 2008 Checkered Flag Productions Championship Chase would be held at the Kansas Expo Center. The Monkey'n Around team performed strong all weekend, never missing a beat and finishing right behind Bigfoot and Twisted Dragon all weekend long. Steven Hill vaults himself into 5th place in the 2008 CFP Championship standings to start off the year on the right foot. This weekend you can catch the Monkey'n Around truck in Charlotte NC on the CFP tour!
